Here at Lycksele Zoo, we have been running a sponsorship programme since the early 1990s, where companies have the opportunity to support our animals financially for their care. We are one of northern Sweden’s most popular visitor destinations for both private individuals and businesses. By becoming a sponsor, the company gets the opportunity to be visible and build its profile, and perhaps also attract customers who would not normally visit the company.

Lycksele Zoo is a member of SDF, the Swedish Zoo Association, and EAZA, the European Association of Zoos and Aquaria. As a member of SDF, one of the main tasks is to actively support conservation work for endangered animal species, and to increase public awareness of these and related nature issues. When it comes to conservation projects, the aim is to coordinate breeding programmes and research around an animal species or group, as well as the animals’ placement, relocation and social environment.
